On the various circular saw threads I noticed several folks here were fans of the Porter Cable 6″ saws. I’ve been using my cordless 6″ circular saw a lot recently and need to pick up some new blades. I use it for everything from framing to trim so anyone’s preferred blade for any task is appreciated.

I have to order 6" blades from freud. There are no stores in my area that sell 6" blades.6 1/2",5 1/2, " blades are sold everywhere but 6" blades here, have not been sold since woodworkers warehouse closed up.I am satisfied with the freud blades.

WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
I bought a 6 1/2" Makita blade once, 24 tooth - that was one of the best blades I ever used on my saw. It was blue/green in color and made in Japan. Cost about $24 - worth it.Have alsoi had good luck with the chrome-plated Freud blades from Lowes - their on clearance now at $14, reg $20.Some of the Chrome ones are now made in China, the one I used was made in Italy.JT

here's the 'Diablo' blade from Amazon - I've had it in the queue for a year now, waiting for some mad $ to order it (along with a couple of grand of other items...)

I've got a decent blade that came with my saw (used/ebay) and haven't used it that much, so not a pressing need for me - but I like to have an extra blade in stock for all the tools -
I started a thread a couple years ago about small saws and bought the PC 6" (left hand) and Rigid 6.5" (right hand) -
that Rigid is a great saw - thanks to whoever recommended it to me -
David,Thanks for the info along with everyone else. I'm going to go ahead and order that blade tonight.
As a side note a day after the post I found a Timberwolf 6" think kerf blade in both 20tooth and 40tooth varieties at Smoot Lumber in Alexandria, so far I like the blade. My coworker tried it had good luck as well. The blades cost $17.00
Diablo is my favorite general purpose blade, even before FHB plugged it.
