Does anyone have any experience with the Fein Multimaster,Variable speed tool. I am very interested in it. It appears to be designed well to do many sanding, cutting, and other pain in the butt jobs.
I am trying to get hands on feedback from anyone that has tried it, uses it, or owns it. It appears to be up there in price. I am not opposed to paying good money for this tool if it is actually worth the price.
I have not been able to find any reviews on it, and thought that this forum could help me. I do appreciate your responses.
Thanks, Dan

I've got it. I like it. It makes very good, precise finish cuts in material that's already installed. Minor undercutting of casings. Good for sanding in tite spots. Hear it'll remove grout w/the right blade. Tool isn't bad at about 180.00, but specialty blades will choke a horse.
*I bought one to eventually use to refinish the interior of my boat. Justified it when I was replacing a couple of windows in a cedar sided house I built a couple of years ago. Told the customer those windows were going to be too short. It cut the siding perfectly. Have used it since for close cutting, some tricky sanding, and have really found many uses for it. It is pricey, but I feel it has really proved it's usefulness to me.
*dan..it's the best of the bunch.. bought mine a year ago after listening to these guys... then i bought the fein vacumn with the auto switch that turns it on anytime the tool plugged into it turns on...
*This machine started out as a detail sander. The guys at Fein then found more and more uses for it with specialty blades and attachments. I like it best for undercutting existing trim, especially shortening door jambs when adding laminate or hardwood-floors with the offset saw attachment. Just place on a piece of scrap and saw away. No other saw does this job afaik. A tile setter-friend likes it for taking out broken (single) tiles. It is nice to have - but not a must.
*Have the single speed. Love it. But as has been said blades etc expensive.
*You may want to do a search on the subject. I've seen a few strings on the tool. I think in general, as you're reading here, people like it. Well built, long cord, but expensive add-ons. BTW, I buy the sand paper directly from Fein. The cost is dramatically lower than the local shop here in town.Best,Seth
