The thread about the price of cedar fence boards leads me to ask:
What’s the preferred method of attaching cedar fence boards – nailing or screwing? What vertical spacing do you use?
Be interested to read your methods…

I just built a 110' foot fence where I shiplapped and v-grooved 300+ pickets, (4 passes each board on table saw) , made my own latice too (wanted to copy Walpole Woodworkers) I nailed pickets to cross braces (2x4's) with stainless steel ring shanks. Major stuff like the lattice toppers were screwed with 2 or 3" stainless screws and gorilla glued. Took some time but it'll be there long after I'm gone.
Just waiting for a sunny weekend to scrape the glue, fill holes and blast that baby w/ Sherwin W's A-100 then w/ Sherwins solid stain, maybe grey. Again I copy walpole.
This is for my house, I am by no means a pro, just too cheap to hire someone.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
