What type of cedar is used to make the fences around the Rhode Island area? I’d like to know what the types are and what would be the better of those types.
Thanks KaiserRoo

Around here you see lots of Eastern White Cedar. The posts hold up best if there's a substantial amount of heartwood.
What style is the fence? I just did a picket fence repair job. Made new pickets out of 1x4x18'
Azek. 102 pcs. Will never need paint & from 3 feet away you can't tell it's not wood. Clients love it.
The fence type is 6' high stockade on one side and 1x4 cedar 4' and 6' sections.
