Help! I have an 8 year old house, and the fiber cement flashing that was used to cover the above grade 2″ XPS rigid insulation board is cracking in multiple locations. Water can easily run down between the cement flashing and the board. Should I be concerned, or is the cement board primarly there only to provide mechanical protection from the rigid insulation (blue board)?

Any thoughts appreciated!
