FIBER CEMENT SIDING – roofing nailer?
FIBER CEMENT SIDING – roofing nailer?
@@@
Anyone have experience, pro or con, in using a roofing nailer to do fiber cement siding (Certainteed, in this case)? We have the roofing nailers.
One brand of nails better than another? (Yep, I like Maze, but probably am getting something WhiteCap carries.)

I bought a Bostich coil siding nailer just for this purpose.
I don't have the # It was recommended by several here.
I shoots what looks like a ring shank 6 penny nail.
I also use it for sheathing.

our bostich roofers work pretty well... we use Maize HDG 1 3/4 for blind nailing
this Max works the best

Mike,
That seam-backing strip looks great. Did you get them ready-made or fabricate them?

That's nice. I thought they were something you bought.

Nice backer. Nice gun. I have the Max Superframer but have never seen a sale on the coiler. The ToolBear

Used to joke about the Korean nail mills. I miss them. I was given a strip of Maze DHG positive metal placement nails to ruin my day. (Could I have the case? No.) Really nice looking nails. Saw their DHG roofing nails at the Expo. I want. The ToolBear

I've used the Bostich and handnailed too. I used generic 1 - 3/4" roofing nails in the gun and I think 1-1/2" hand driven nails. The gun is faster of course, sometimes hand nailing makes sense.I usually hand nail at the peak where I don't need the speed and the gun gets in the way.
