fiber optic electrical in home?

i’m going to be the first to say ,i’m a absolute dumb as when it comes to technology,i still have some 8 tracks……………………..
so today i’m having a conversation with a guy and he tells me he doesn’t use copper wire in his house,it’s all wired with fiber optics!!! 110 volts
now i’m not going to tell you his postion or about his house until i hear that this is complete b.s. but i thought fiber optics used pulses of light???
so tell me he’s full of dung. or i’m a old relic thats getting ready for depends.
the only thing i know about fiber optics is backhoes/fiber optics = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I hope he's not a school science teacher.
so,today i have a tax appeal for real estate valuation. so this guy works for the county and tells us all what are houses are worth, cause he's so educated....
a house i have was built in 74,the height of the aluminum craze. has cheap aluminum widows like a mobile home. so i'm pointing out to him that his comparables have real windows and mine are like a mobile home. he then chews on me that he lives in a mobile home! then he says "at least it don't have alum wiring". bingo things are going my way, well yes it does have alum wiring!
thats when he tells me his mobile home is wired with fiber optics,no copper.pretty high tech for a mobile home..
and these guys have the all knowing power to tell me what reale state is worth, even though thats what puts food on my table.
next year i'm going to tell him i've wired all my houses with fiber, but haven't been able to get the lights to work. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'TMOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THEDUCT TAPE.
It takes all kinds. What a doozie!
The guy's an idiot if he thinks he's got fiber optic power "wiring" in his trailer. And I'm betting he doesn't have fiber optic computer "wiring" either -- there may be fiber coming up to the unit, but it stops at the network interface box.At most he's got some sort of fiber optic lighting setup that distributes "mood lighting" through crude fiber optic light pipes.

Ohhh mood lights. And dingle balls? We have a fiberopitc X-mas tree, but it still plugs into 110 volt copper. Does this guy own any shares in the Broklen bridge?
He's full of dung. Do all of his electric devices have fiber optic cords attached to them too? Toaster, blender, hair dryer etc.
next time i'm at walmart i'll ask the clerk for a fiber optic toaster. sounds like funYOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'TMOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THEDUCT TAPE.
just think , people that wally world wont hire, end up working for the government
Careful Boss Hogg works for Wally World now!!!
Hilarious. Ask him for a tour of his McMansion some time.
I'd say he's probably talking about fiberoptic computer network cable, which has become relatively inexpensive and easy to deal with. Most people still use copper because it's easier, cheaper, and meets most people's needs. But if this guy wanted to install fiber in his mobile home (for the novelty factor), it would be easy enough to do.
Scott.
Maybe he has solar panels on his roof and uses the fibre optics to carry the light directly to the appliance :-)
Is he blonde?
