I set up 2 columns on piers already built with concrete caps.I put rebar thru the caps and filled in with concrete under the caps”should make for good anchors”. I put the columns over the rebar and then filled the columns with mortar and concrete mix.
While taking a break I read the column instructions and on the last paragragh it says it is not permitted to fill the columns with sand or concrete or anything else.I have done this on other projects and have not been called back.
Has anybody else done this or seen a failure resulting from putting concrete in a fiberglass column?

where ,i live , in extreme temp changes in northern NY, i could only say they don't want them filled so they may expand and contract with temp changes . if you poured them with concrete you probably have them fully expanded. now when the temp cools, they will want to contract and that will stress the fiberglass , possibly causing to crack over time. just a guess but probably on right track.
