Fiberglass Insulation in Perforated Plastic Wrapper
Do they still sell unfaced fiberglass insulation in perforated plastic? I remember seeing something like this several years ago. I need to add some insulation to my attic in an area where the insulation will have to be moved infrequently to access the A/C blower. The insulation that is currently there gets ruined from all the moving around as it needs to get pulled under the flexible A/C tubing. This insulation sits on top of the original faced insulation. Based on the lengths I need rolls would work better than batts.

Yeah, they used to sell it, but I haven't seen it advertised in maybe 15 years.
Poly-encapsulated Fiberglass Insulation
I called Johns-Manville. According to customer service Lowes carries it. Not all Lowes stores may stock it but can special order it. There are also smaller lumber yards that may have it.....the one in my neck of the woods is 40 miles from my house.
yes it is...
..still available. You could probably do something better for accessing the A/C equipment like building an insulation dam with rigid foam board. It would be a little work but would provide a better long term solution to your problem.

The original Owens-Corning stuff was shown in ads being installed as "attic floor" insulation.
