I have an Aquaglass brand fiberglass tub/surround in my kids bathroom. The other day while cleaning the tub I found what looks like a small chip out of the tub on the bottom. It looks like one of the Textured “bubbles” treads chipped off, likely when my kids where playing with toys in the tub. The size of the chip is very small and I only noticed it because it is black and the tub is white, I thought that it was dirt and ran my finger nail over it and noticed that it was a chip. Size wise it is about the size of the tip of a ball point pen.
1) is this something that I need to worry about?
2) is there an easy fix that I can do to the chip?
Thanks in advance for any idea’s

A little more extensive but, I had to repair a tub when my Father in law put his knee through the side of his tub.

For something that small I would try the epoxy (2 part) appliance touch up paint.
Just put a drop or two over it. Put the rest in the refrig and do a second coat in a hour or two (look at the times listed on the package).

It's nothing to worry about -- cosmetic but not structural in any sense.
You can repair it, after a fashion, with a gelcoat repair kit. Your best source for one would be either a spa place or a place that sells boat accessories.
billhartman's idea would be my recommendation. I used to be an authorized factory rep. for fixing extensive damage to FG tubs and showers, and something as minor as you have is not worth the expense and bother of of the whole polyester resin/gel coat routine.
Just one more small recommendation: clean the spot thoroughly with alcohol or acetone before placing the epoxy.
cool thanks guys.
