Any contractors from Florida? It is my understanding that Florida has banned, in some jurisdictions at least, use of fibrous glass ductboard but I have been unable to verify this. Can anyone help me? I’d like the reasons for banning it also. I’m involved in a law suit over f.g. duct with evaporative coolers.

*Jim,I haven't seen any info to that effect, which means nada.Speculation: could it have to do with growing concerns re molds, fungus and "sick building syndrome?"Seems to me that stuff would be an ideal breeding ground for mold and fungus after a few years of dust and dirt buildup (e.g., mold cafeteria) if there is also the requisite moisture introduced.Especially given the current remediation trends re non-cleanable materials (see, e.g. http://www.ci.nyc.us/html/doh/html/epi/moldrpt1.html )(There's some interesting material there, but it seems to have been written by the NYC Dept of Health's Division of Redundancy Division. )
*Problem at a middle school. Bunch of kids and teachers sick. Mfr. use to warn about getting it wet but it has dissappeared from most literature. Some specifically warned against use with evaporative cooling which this is, this has also disappeared. Code is silent.
*I tried to retire but keep getting these calls. Don't work much over 24 hour/week. See my post below about gripe.
