filling jersey barriers with sand
Anybody out there ever fill jersey barriers with sand? I’m trying to think of the best method to fill them with sand efficiently.
The next project I have out in St. Louis we are going to use sand. The thieves just puncture the water-filled ones, wait for them to drain, then proceed stealing cars.

What are you calling a jersey barrier.
What I am familiar with is a solid cast concert "inverted Tee".

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
I've seen those made outta plastic. Therefore, I assume they're filled with something.
Water sounds good for relocating frequently.
But I don't know the size of any opening. I further assume using very dry clean sand and a properly sized and supported funnel is gonna be his choice.
they used to use buckets with a bottom valve to move/raise concrete back before pumpers - may still use them for some applications - seems like you could use them to position and dump sand into a top loading barrier -
Get your concrete supplier to deliver DRY sand in a cement mixer.
Or get the sand in one of those bags and drop it in using a fork lift.
