I have 18 inch glazed ceramic tile (over concrete slab) in the bathroom of my 7 year old home. There are large voids under the tile in a couple of places. They have a very “hollow” ring when tapped, unlike the rest of the floor. Thus far no cracked tiles, would like to keep it that way. I am thinking of drilling a small access hole in the grout and injecting thickened epoxy to fill the void and support the tiles. Is this a good idea? Do you have better suggestions? Thanks!

I can't imagine how that could possibly work. The chance of the epoxy flowing into the cavities seems extremely remote. Now, if you were to drill holes every couple of inches through the tile, that would be a different story.
But seriously, see if you can pick up some extra matching tiles before they are discontinued and then if you do get a crack, you can do a proper repair.
My concern was that he epoxy would flow too well, hence the "thickening" of it. At seven years old I'm not sure if the tile is still available. Thanks for the suggestion.
Better suggestions
Bump -- surely someone has dealt with this problem -- any better suggestions than using the injected expoxy? A better product for this purpose? Would like to stablize it before the tiles crack. Thanks!
