I’m just starting a window treatment installation business and I’ve outgrown the basement where I rent living space.
My needs are fairly minimal: a place to build cornice boxes, plane the odd length of 2×2, maybe a portable table saw, and a place to store oversized tools and lengths of trim and stock. It would be ideal if there was a way to receive deliveries of product that arrives for installation.
The closer it’s located to where I live, the better.
And since I’m starting out, my budget is tight.
Do more established crafts/tradesfolk share space?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks.

It takes a lot of sniffing around. Just go out and ask people that have businesses if they have a small shop area where you can rent at a very modest amount and see what happens. Look at business' that have some spin off advantages like a furniture stores or upholstering shops.
i have several friends who own mini storage units... alot more people use em for small shops than you'd think...

nyc, I'm dealing with exactly the same thing. Less than one year in, single car garage that wife wants back! (brake, table saw, miter saw& stand, horses, paint rig, stack of xtra Hardie/trim, ~ten 5-gal buckets, carpet remnants, .............) Need a place to paint doors, shutters, trim, etc. when it's too cold. No room to build, too $$ to rent or lease (for me anyway). Been running this ad and telling everyone I know (lumberyard, paint store, etc.)
WANTED: GARAGE Small shop or commercial for storage, occasional light painting, etc. Rent or trade for services. Message, nnn-nnnn.
Good luck - to both of us!
