I’ve got a bunch of FH magazines to get rid of. Any suggestions anyone?
Seems like it’d be painful to sell them 1 or 2 at a time. Would like to move the whole lot.
Approx 150……….some early black & white covers. Just cleaning out, trying to make some room.
I’m in central CT. Wouldn’t mind shipping them, but would have to break them into 2 boxes, this one is about 100 lbs.

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

I filled in some missing copies from someone here and I think I paid $1 or $1.50 for individual copies. He did not have an entire collection, just individual copies he was going to toss. Couple years ago I seem to recall an entire collection went for around $300.
See what becomes of this, but keep it in mind. They don't have to be in "collector" shape. I still use them for reference.

Checked in at UPS $55.00 for 70 lbs. So I'm thinking 2 70 lb boxes..........$110.00 sounds steep to me but it's been a long time since I've shipped anything.Asked the post office about media rates, said he couldn't even

If you're looking at two 70 lb boxes, you ought to be able to do your own estimating. If you go to http://www.usps.com/send/waystosendmail/senditwithintheus/mediamail.htmyou can follow through from "Calculate Postage" to "Calculate Domestic Postage" to "Package." From the picture you posted, it doesn't look like you'd need a box bigger than 12x12x12 to send half of the magazines, so the "Large Package" wouldn't apply. (Most likely the reason you couldn't get an estimate is because with a "Large Package" you also have to plug in the package dimensions.)Plugging in 70 lb and 0 oz (for some reason a blank isn't acceptable, the zero oz has to be filled in) and Connecticut and California Zip Codes, Media Mail comes to $25.59 per box. 50 lb would be $18.79. You can fine tune it when you get everything boxed and weighed. It should be pretty close.Dan
Like DanG said, media mail is significantly less. Generally not good to ship magazines in heavy packages, much safer to break down into smaller groups of a few pounds each. Local bookstore should have plenty of smaller magazine-sized boxes. Packing much easier that way also - to properly protect a large heavy box (like 50-70 lbs.) you would need a wood crate, cardboard is not generally adequate, unless you triple-box it maybe.
My wife sells books and magazines on internet, we pack and ship daily. A large, heavy box of mags is almost a guarantee of damage in transit.

Bowz -- ok -- the set I have for magazines 1-22 is missing number six -- parcel post to Oskosh WI for these $14.53 or Media @ $6.55 ( I believe theses qualify as media) from zip code 20815 DC Area to 54901 Oshkosh, WI. The 21 magazines weight 13.5 pounds unboxed -- Thinking the later ones are thicker and the weight would go up -- Sell the 21 for $45 if sent at the media rate.
Would be great if you had someone coming to the DC area - school group etc, Spring Time, and they could get them to you -- have not weighed the whole set but guessing it is 120 pounds -- I'll have the exact weight and any that are missing by Tuesday.

When I will be ready to part with my collection I intend to offer them to a local library or high school shop or high school technical department that teaches building trades. I think the magazines have so much to offer to budding building trade students. Think of how many young minds you will be helping to develop.
