We are currently planning on replacing the vinyl siding on our home with cedar clapboards and have reached a dilemma – should we choose contiguous CVG claps, or (in general) has the finger jointed product evolved into a reliable, lasting material? Cost is a considerable factor (when isn’t it?)
We are planning on applying a dark solid color stain (over an primed (all sides) surface) and our home is well shaded and ventilated.
We’d obviously prefer to opt for the CVG product, but that may break the bank – is FJ a viable alternative, and is there anything specific we should look/look out for or consider.) Thanks in advance for any help you could contribute.
