Dave -
I don't know of any formal schools, but I know where I learned fine finish carpentry - from my head carpenter. What is your background? Do you have some skill already? Maybe you can get paid to learn instead of paying someone else. My company is in the Philly area and we are always looking for someone who has a desire to learn how to be a good carpenter.

*Nick, I would love to do that(BUT) I work full time right now for Boeing Helicopters during the day. I used to do finish carpentry before I came here. I have been working in the wood shop here for the last 14 years plus I have my own (small) cabinet shop at home. The only reason I said school is I don't know anyone who does finish carpentry at night. I want very much to learn the trade properly because I have had enough of Boeing Helicopters. If you are not a 300 pound black female down here you're garbage!!!
*Dave - Well, I wish I could help out on the school aspect. But, if your situation changes, and you're interested, e-mail me at [email protected].
