Gary- the main decision for you is in the nails. The 15ga. nails
are going to go in straigter more of the time, and may be better
nailing up 3/4″ stock or putting together slightly heavier trim.
The 16ga nails are finer and bead easier in harder woods.
I have the hitachi 15ga angled finish nailer, and just got the
newer paslode 16ga, because the hitachi finally needs to go
in for service. I’ve always thought the 15 ga. nails (senco type)
are better for most trim, they have a small head on them and
hold better. But for run of the mill colonial casing and small trim
you can’t beat the straight 16ga nailer. I really like this Paslode
unit. Only drawback is its tricky to load/unload the nails, otherwise
it performs great, it was only about $ 175 before tax.
But the hitachi angle nailer is awesome.
