This is my first time finishing a basement.. or any other job of this magnitude.. Many people have asked (also some strongly insist) me to do theirs for them, but I keep telling them, that its just a hobby.. Its hard to tell from the pictures, but the entire back wall is curved.. the powder room is on the other side of the tightly curved wall..
And i know i have to trim the ductwork, and install registers, but i need some air nibbler thing to do it which i don’t have, and i have to go to some automotive supply shop to get.. (suggestions?.. would offset tinsnips work? does such a thing exist)
just to relive all you pro’s you’ll be happy to know that: ( 🙂 )
– there are NO hidden junction boxes
– the vapor barrior is on the warm side (canada eh)
– all plumbing is vented correctly
– all inside chairrail corners are coped (good thing mdf trim is cheap)
comments / feeedback is welcome (actually appreciated)

I'm not sure if I like the "back light helmet" ...
or the "don't take my picture, I'm in my robe" picture better.
Looks good .... curves are cool.

LOL, wait till she finds out its on the net..
Where's the ticketbooth and the concession stand? ;)
Looks nice, wish I had a basement that looked like that! How about a remotely controlled screen? Just hit a button on a remote and it oooooozes out of the floor..or ceiling ..or somewhere.
That's one of my rules. Never do anything manually that you could program on a remote control button. :)
Do you have any "during" pictures on those curved walls? Pretty nifty.
The electric screen was in the plans, but got scrapped for the manual one, since the electric ones are more built-in and we aren't planning on staying here that long. Not to mention they are 4 times the price of this manual one, and I got a good deal on it :)
Looks great, just in time for the Super Bowl! uhhh... just noticed the Canada thing <oops>
Awesome, just in time for the Stanley Cup playoffs! aww shucks... no hockey this year <sorry>
Since you had all that free time it's the least you could do. *big grin*

Comment:
Looks like you do some nice work. That room should see a lot of use. Gotta love the curves.
Feedback (prefaced with a question):
Is there any main lighting? Looks awful dark...while I would assume thats what one would want when viewing, doesn`t seem comfortable for other times.

Actually the lights are a little dimmed, but its not as dark as it appears in the pictures. (damn camera) They are on two separate dimmer zones. There is tons of light when both banks are on full, so much infact that only one zone is usually on, and even that is dimmed for watching TV. Needless to say, all the lights are off when the projector is running.

Looks like a nice Entertainment room ravz.
My only suggestion would be a soffit box to hide the retracted screen and a ceiling outlet to hide the projection cable.
I always like to see dimmer controlled sconce lighting in entertainment rooms.
Your trim work looks great!

Good catch Bob! The cord hanging is temporary, as it is supposed to pass through the wall to the outlet on the otherside. I have yet to install this outlet out of laziness, but the feed is there, just not energized yet obviously. Once this is done, there is a wire wrap product that neatens it all up :)
PS.. Really LOVE all the great decks!
Ravz, looks great!
With a program like Irfanview (free download) you can lighten and resize the pics like this:
