Please disregard that I am not finished in this picture. However, once I finish the wall I am putting fence posts in the holes every so many feet. I am filling the wall with concrete. What I am wanting to know is what would be a good way to smooth the top of the retaining wall? I am not using the caps. I need something thin since the fence will be really close to the top of the wall.

I have thought about using cement without the gravel or something like the leveling compound. The sides of the wall will have something like stucco.
