I have a 2nd story push fire escape door on my house. The house was a handicap group home a few years before we bought it so the door was a retrofit.
Im trying to determine best way to seal up some of the large gaps outside and around the door aluminum fascia. I feel like 1 it lets decent amount of cold air in and 2 easy entrance for bugs. I’m planning on weather striping the door but what to do on the outside. Attached a few photos. Any thoughts?

What is the 3rd photo of?
Yea pic was hard to take but that’s the aluminum trim that’s around the door, it’s only nailed in at a couple spots and can easily be pulled back like shown in the photo to see the siding
The aluminum you're peeling back in #3 has nothing to do with air sealing. Other than that I can't make out enough from your pics to determine anything. Are the margins of the door even all the way around the jamb as viewed from the inside? I'm assuming the door opens out. If the door is installed racked out of whack in any plane your job will be less straight forward.
I would take the trim off and put some weather sealing foam around the door jamb. (then re-install the trim)
Might pull the threshold as well, if you can get to it. probably could use some good sealing there as well.
Is there trim around the inside of the door you can pull and perhaps seal from that side? Might be easier.
use low-expansion foam meant for doors and windows.
Yes there is normal wood casing around the interior of the door, i think foam could be a good option. I’m gonna pull the interior trim off tomorrow and take a look.
As for the exterior aluminum fascia, I’m going to pull that off as well and see what it looks like underneath with the plan to reinstall
It.
Thanks for the input so far guys!
