A client with a gas fireplace insert (Heat-n-Glo) wants to remove the ceramic ‘logs’ and have the flames emerge from crushed glass or ‘river rocks’ for a more contemporary look… a couple of questions…
• can regular crushed and/or tumbled glass be used instead of what’s sold specifically for fires (“fireglass”, etc.)?
• will removing the ‘logs’ reduce the heating efficiency… less radiant heat?
Thanks!

You need to ask Heat -n- Glo.
