I know, it’s not a deck but it’s not a bad place to burn up scrap decking.

geez bob, fanny insulators? No detail left undone. These folks have money?
I'm emailing you with a question.

Calvin, Calvin, Calvin, Plastic flowers? You know me better than that......
It's Spring here now 58 degrees today..........time to plant bulbs, thatch and re-seed lawn, trim roses and lilacs......
The steps are 6" and so are the blocks. The Pain is you have to fill the little pie type gaps between the blocks with pre-mix concrete..........
So now I'm a mason too...........Not
Hope things warm up for you soon......
Have a great weekend.... "Rather be a hammer than a nail"

Bob, I didn't know that was your place. That guy does have money.
But a fanny insulator hanger?
And you hurt me with those colors.
The only color we have here is a pop can making an appearance after the snow melts. You lucky dog.
Did you lexel those block together or just dry lay em?Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

Mostly gravity holding down those blocks. If they moved I slapped a little morter mix between them............The fanny pads are those used for gardening, but I'd rather rest on my butt on them and watch someone else do the gardening.............:-)
Stay warm..........."Rather be a hammer than a nail"

I love the smell of trex burning..keeps the mosquitoes dead.
really, that is way cool..our burn pit is still for debris, it will morph into a decorative yard fixture..fanny pads are a great idea too..where's the weeeny sticks and mushmollies?

Bob you are good... Bar none.
Does this mean that BT has "fire in the hole" now???
Here fishy fishy....
This is it! This is where we hold the next "fire in the hole fest""Rather be a hammer than a nail"
Bob
I think I figured out how I see your work.... It's the blend and how you you make it look like it belongs naturally....
Fire in the hole it is....
Here fishy fishy....
Thanks for the complement IMERC......I really had a hard time mixing prefab Blocks for the firepit with my natural granite rocks in the waterfall.........
My back says I should have payed someone else to do it................"Rather be a hammer than a nail"

My back says I should have payed someone else to do it................
For some reason this sounds familar..... ROAR!!!
Tough time or not. You were successfull.....
Here fishy fishy....
And if the fire ever gets out of control you can just pull a few rocks out from the front of the fountain and flood the conflagaration.
reinvent- It's always a good idea to have water available near a fire. The fire dept. here says you can't have a fire pit any closer than 25' from a combustable object.
I'm a little closer than that to my bridge but they let me get away with it because it is so contained...........I just have to promise not to build any bon fires......."Rather be a hammer than a nail"
Bob
I'll take one. Start next week?
Who Dares Wins.
Thanks gunner but I have to start a gazebo with a glass roof, deck, and two breeze ways with glass roofs next week.
just getting all 22 post in line will be a neat trick for me.
I made the template for the gazebo out of 2 sheets of 1/2" osb..........
I'll post pictures of that next week.......
Have a good weekend........."Rather be a hammer than a nail"
Bob
Week after next?Who Dares Wins.
WOWWWW!
So beautiful dude!!!
Its your B'day? I celebrated mine yesterday (53 and still immature : )....now I know why you need a fire pit.

Hey, Bob ! Hope you have a great birthday.
I wanna see the bridge ! Please !
Greg
Thanks Greg, here is an older picture of the bridge. The curve is made by cutting 4- 8' 2 X 12's and leaving 6" for the span.
I have to replace the railing but that will be a bit of a pain because there are low voltage lights to deal with.
The railing has to be Natural wood to match the rest of the up-grading I've been doing around here.

Greg
you got some back yard...
very nice.
happy birthday too..enjoy the day/night
That's nicer than my living room. Isn't that your backyard Pro Dek? It's almost too nice to dirty up with ashes.
That line about burning the Trex killed me!
This is my way of camping dieselpig..........smores on the campfire and into the house to a comfy bed...................
I'm not going to try to roast mellows with Trex......who knows what is in that stuff?"Rather be a hammer than a nail"
Bob
Nice! We did something similar... I thought I was the only one with the fire obsession. I have a lip that I set a cedar "manhole cover" in so when not in use the pit is level patio area (you can see the cover in the shot of the whole patio if you look close). The pit actually has vents that come out in the back of the seat wall to allow air to the underside of the fire. The pit it filled with about 2' of river stone so air can get up through it and ash just settles down through it. I shop vac it out every month or so to keep the ash build up down but I don't think it's even necessary.
