Now that I have my 40 hours flown off…I was able to take be released from my 25 mile FAA flying limit. I flew 122 miles to Litchfield, Il. to attend the fly-in held in memory of my friend Bill Finnegan who was killed Mar 31 in a gyro with my other friend Terry Eiland.
There was a tremendous turnout of people and over 20 gyrcopters flew in from Missouri,,Iowa,,Indiana and Illinois.
My best friend on earth flew commercially from Florida to honor this great man Bill Finnegan.
What a feast…all the fried chicken and pie and salad..and all that goes with it……and they refused payment of any kind.

So now that your cleared for cross country.................You gonna navigate through New York city airspace and make it to Tipi fest? nJust kidding but you got to admit that would be a pretty cool entrance.

Boss: Hey...I just caught up on my e-mails and just saw the last one you sent. Sorry we didnt meet up.
I ended up going down early and left a little after 3:30. I had a good time there.
That picture you posted was another SparrowHawk similar to mine. It belongs to Gerry Loeser. We did a missing man formation flight in honor of Bill Finnegan.
There were no ultralights there Ron...<G>

It was my fault we missed you. I suggested to Ron that we show up at the same time, but then I got tied up working on my house and arrived late. Gerry's gyro was flying when I arrived in Litchfield, but had landed before I got to the airport. We talked with a couple of the "gyro-heads". They seemed real friendly. I think one said he was a preacher from Centralia and another was from somewhere in MO I believe.
Attached are a couple more pics. I still maintain my feeling that while yours and Gerry's gyros look like they'd be a blast, those lesser gyros are a bit too bare boned for my tastes! ;)

Cross country? For real? I may have to get interested in these gyrocopters..sounds like fun.
Hardwood guy....cross country for real? absolutely. Last year a guy by the name of Rob Dubin flew all 48 contiguous states in one like mine. Its safer up there than down in the traffic
