I was recently installing IF for a new home and thought I would save time and money by running my own main water line. The water district uses 1″ PIC. So I primed and glued 1″ PIC out to the meter pit. Nothing could be simpler, right? Wrong, the water smells terribly like the glue. Even after running about 1000 gal. through it. Any suggestions on the cause or solution?
