I’ve got an upcoming project that calls for cultured stone to be applied
over a block foundation for an addition. This is a first for me. The idea is to match the existing fieldstone foundation. It’s only going to show roughly 30 inches from grade to cedar shingle siding. I’d appreciate any tips. For instance, should I use a wider sill plate and overhang the block foundation to make up for the 2″ stone thickness and are there any recomendations on mortar mix, such as additives to adhere the cultured stone to the concrete block? Thanks for any help in advance.

googgle eldorado stone. Search the site as they have installation instructions over a block wall.
Cultured stone does not need direct foundation support underneath. It will adhere to the wall as would stucco or siding.
I think you're going to be better off using a thinset that's frost proof rather than mortar.
