So are you going to have house mover lift the house while you replace the floor framing?
Im not going to lift house. I planning to put supports and replace joists and floor shitting in sections.
I need advice if joist shown in picture wiull be strong enough for outisde wall and roof.
In fact Im looking for some help from building engineer to calculate this scenario.
Cut the nails on each end and remove one joist at a tme. It will take a lot of pounding or cutting to get the sheathing nails out. Or, just scab a new joist next to the old one, nail them together and move on. Any that are eaten up with termitsand/or rot will probably be easy to remove. You'll new joist hangers on each end of each joist but those can be installed after the joists are in place.
there is not mutch of old joists left plus they are 2x6 over 12' span. I have to get rid of them.
My main concern is to make shore that idea of new joist shown in sketch will work.
I think it will work fine. Seems like a reasonable way to make the repairs and strenghten the house too. Just make sure to use joist hangers at each end.
Definitely I will use hangers. Thanks for help.
