Hello All,  I’m in the process of designing a home in a Dry Zone 5 area.  Been scouring the websites for that ideal wall construction.  I’ve narrowed my design down to 1.  a double 2×4 stud wall with 3.5″ of Closed cell SPF and the remaining thickness filled with dense packed cellulose.  No exterior insulation.

2.  2×6 wall with flash and fill and 3″ of xps.

Since I’m doing the work I think it would be a lot less expensive and faster to do option 1. 

Any ideas, thoughts and advice welcome
