I’m in the process of building my new home. My structural engineer sent preliminary foundation and framing plans to my architect to check for any conflict with architectural drawings. The 1 1/2 next to the 2X wall will be Zip-r6 sheathing. It is going to be resting in the 5 1/5 “brick ledge”. That was the architect recommendation.
For capillary break and air seal I was thinking in using Protecto premuim energy sill sealer between sill plate and foundation.
My question is, what would you use to flash the section the L shape section where the polyso and osb meets the foundation?
Thanks!

ask your architect if you need to bed-seal aluminum or stainless steel ell-flashing to cover the exposed concrete and to act as a termite guard. [1.5" x 6" with a hemmed drip edge for example.] WRB would go on top so that water would not get trapped.
or ask them what they are thinking for detailing.
statman - thanks for the feedback. My architect is more on the creative side of things?
- - I’m building the house with my father in law. He is not a full time builder. He build his house and my brother’s in law house. I am not a builder at all. After my wife and I hired the architect I started reading “a house needs to breed or does it”. After that I started to watch a ton of videos and read about building science. My architect doesn’t seem to open to suggestion I had. Not being a builder myself I didn’t push.
That is why I’m asking for advise here.
