Does anyone know of a good swivel mount for a 50″ flat screen TV at a reasonable cost? Best Buy’s Sanrus brand offers one with just 9″ stand-off for $250 and the exact same mount with an articulated arm and 18.5″ reach costs $380. HO wants to mount the TV in the corner but able to fold back against one wall. TV is 51″ wide, so it requires minimum 18″ stand-off to work in the corner and wall pivot to be 26″ out from the corner.

Thanks for that link, Mark. At first I thought the pricing was more than Best Buy, but that was MSRP. When you click the link you find the heavily discounted actual sales prices and free shipping.
They're a local company, used
They're a local company, used to be a couple miles away before they moved. Good to deal with, no problems at all.

Didn't look closely to see if either has something to handle a 50" unit, though.
You could also try Amazon.com. They have a number of TV mounts from different manufacturers; I bought a basic one there a while back (no swivel or anything, just flat mount against the wall) and it was significantly cheaper than anything at Best Buy or the other big box stores.
try monoprice.com I have never used but they were highly regarded on another forum
I made one for a 65" using a flat door panel cut to size and mounted with two large gate hinges. I made sure all was bolted/screwed to studs and install a chain to prevent it swinging out too far. Works great!
Clever solution to your situation.
Minor hijack!
What is the drop ceiling tile?
It looks interesting.

Probably due to the prices on the TVs, Best Buy is a total rip off on accessories like a mount. Look around, you will probably find the same mount (perhaps under a different name) for half the price. I bought mine at........ Costco.
Good luck.
Apparently you're right.
Apparently you're right. MarkH's link showed the same mount for $100 less than BB.
And that surprises you? Did you try Costco?
Even Walmart is a ripoff, with only market-effort placed on the illusion of saving you money.
