I am going to build a porch in a historical district that mandates to me that I have to use T&G Doug Fir flooring. My client wants to have a clear finish. The porch will have a roof of course.

While on the subject of finishes: I finished a couple of decks last year with a Sikkens finish. I did everything that they recommend. I sanded,coated all six sides,I didn`t stain in the sun ect. When I left they looked great. But after just one year most of the finish has worn off. These decks get alot of sun but has anyone had any luck with other products or methods?
