I’ve spent too much time scraping old linoleum adhesive and getting nowhere. Now I think I just want to cover over the concrete slab in the basement and forget about it. Anything wrong with putting 1/4 inch waterproof spacers on 16inch centers on 4×8 sheets of OSB and laying them out? Opinions?
tks,

If you have any issues with dampness (coming through the slab), the sheets of OSB could eventually rot, mold, etc. Lowe's and other "home center" style stores sell OSB squares (I think they are 2' x 2' (?) with a dimpled plastic surface on the bottoms that goes against the slab. The squares snap together. Any water can drain and not affect the OSB. I think it's called "Dry-Core" or something like that. I would look into that before doing what you propose. Others here may have better ideas.
Assuming no moisture issues, I'd put down a layer of extruded foam (blue or pink board) first, then OSB over that. It takes some effort to fasten the OSB to the concrete though.
