I am skeptical that you would have a tremendous amount of airflow with that plan, seeing as the air below the floor would tend to be cooler than the room, and you wouldn’t really have cross-ventilation.
Is it not possible to bore something like a series of 4″ holes in the exterior walls beneath the floor and fit a standard vent to the hole? I have to think that adobe is a lot easier to drill than concrete, not that I work on a lot of adobe buildings up here in the northeast.

*She read about it in a magazine. This lady is 78 and sharp. She was born in the house. Anyway, it's been that way for 100 yrs so I've decided not to fix it. Those old time usually amatuer builders did some strange things and I'll bet that's a whole nuther can of worms. Thanks guys.

I'm just finishing a remodel on an old adobe apartment. The owner asked if i could ventilate the floor. Without going into details this would be extremely difficult. Can I cut holes in the hardwood floors at opposite end s of the room and cover with a screen? Would it be effective and what are the negatives? Need answers SOON. Thanks
