hi. i’m remodeling my house, and i’ve just gotten to the floors; I ordered maple, grade #1 plank flooring from a distributor after viewing a sample. however, maple, grade: ‘americana’ was delivered. it has more color variation than i expected. the distributor maintains that ‘americana’ is the same as grade #1. am i getting short changed? thanks for the advice.

'americana' is a brand trade name and it means exactly whatever they want it to mean, no more, no less.
Here you will find the industry standards on different flooring grades.
