I’m Making flooring. 5/8 thick. No tongue & groove, just butt joints. We are glueing with floor adhesive and screwing after. Some pieces are 6 and 7 inches wide. Should I bother with stress relief cuts underneath?
Cheers

what is your humidity like right now? Is the humdity level as high as it ever gets? If so then jam everything together and good luck. If it gets worse (or higher) then the cuts might help a little bit but they will also reduce the number of times you can sand prior to needing new flooring..
Realise that without tongue and groove you will see the subflooring when the wood shrinks during the drying season..
If you are not goping to bother with something important like T&G. why botjher with reliefs?
