I’m remodeling a basement and the home owner asked if I could put down an insulated floor panel before the carpeting goes down. I’m not familiar with floor insulation, home owner seems to want to get some insulation over the concrete before carpet is laid. Anybody have an suggestions on what he may be talking about, and if so could you reccomend where I could pick it up and any installation techniques that might come in handy?
Much appreciated. Mike

Homasote is sometimes used for insul. slab from carpet. Used it above grade on an enclosed patio. Glued and tapconned to slab. Leave 1/4" gap around all sides of sheet, moisture makes it swell and will buckle. In a basement, I think a good pad would be a safer bet. Check out the info on their site. http://www.homasote.com
