I still have some vinyl adhesive attached to a ceramic floor I’m going to cover with vinyl. Is it necessary that I get it all off? This stuff is REALLY stuck!

Everything will telegraph through most vinyl. Even VCT over time will assume the position. Are you skim coating the ceramic grout joints?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but ditto Calvin: every little bump and dip will show through vinyl in about 2 months.
