Foamular (XPS) and Fire Blocking Corners of Basement Walls

Hello,
I have seen numerous examples where basement wall are first insulated using Faomular (XPS) and then framed.
I thought code states that we need a fire block at each corner to stop a fire from traveling along the wall. For which I could use a three-stud corner.
If code requires a fire stop at each corner then why can we use XPS first? Since XPS can catch fire and if on fire wouldn’t it travel along the entire perimeter of the basement?

Depends on the XPS
In some cases, XPS may not require thermal or ignition barriers (it is important to consult the ICC-Evaluation Service report for a specific product to see if that product is exempt from requiring such barriers).
