Have a client with MW brand windows that are fogging between the double panes. Any luck getting them replaced and getting paid by MW under the warranty? If not, I’ll do it for “cost” but still, it’d be nice to actually get paid to do it. Also, what is the brand you like to use the most? Anderson, MW etc?

The most common way to make your own parging mix is to use either Type S mortar for block or Type N for brick and add a concrete bonding additive.

the save energy wonks who push double pane windows somehow in their money saying calculations ignore the cost of replacement of the windows every 10 or so years.
why the nation went away from outside storms is beyond me. they last and last.
Years ago I had problems with two Anderson Windows that fogged up. Very small at the corner at first, then enlarged weekly. Anderson replaced both sash, I ate the labor. Try contacting your supplier first.

Just curious...Did you install these originally? Has the homeowner tried to contact the original installer? Otherwise, why would you do the work "at cost"? Even if MW supplies the sash, it seems to me you should charge your normal (high) rate to do the installation. Don't forget the cost to prime/paint the new sash and the hours spent on the phone trying to get help from MW. The original installer made his profit on the job. MW got theirs. Why would you do their warranty work for them for free?
Can you tell I just saw the piece in the new JLC about charging fairly for the work we do??

The original installers are bust, the windows were installed about 8-9 years ago. The HO is wanting to sell so we are trying to get everything repaired.
Lots of NON-fine homebuilding was practiced on this one. Every toliet has leaked either tank, flange or both. 20' dryer run with 3 turns and the last 10' up hill. Just replaced that whole thing and will probably be putting a booster on it to ensure they have no issues at sell time. Whole sections of waste pipe that stays filled as it 'flows backwards' due to the HVAC installer breaking several pipe hold bands.
The main reason I'd cut the labor rate is to give the HO a break since they've had so much lately. Also, they are building a new $1M estate and I want all of that action I can get. Lose a $1 today, get $5 tomorrow. Works often enough.

It seem to me you just set your price for any more work you will get from this person. You raise your price and they will point to work you did for them before. And they will point out the first job you did you did for so much less. That you would not have worked for less money then you needed to make a good living and profit. Now you are just trying to gouge them now.
Not true. I have discounted things for this person already and they were happy to have it. They usually say something to the effect of that being a smaller amount than they expected. In fact we actually upped a price on one job after we found it was going to be far beyond the original effort expected. But you are right, I've run into that before.
The real issue here is helping someone who has all but made up jobs for you when they knew you were having a slow time......
I like both models another good one is Pella
About the fogging in the windows it sounds like a seal failure if the windows are still under warrenty the Marvin Window reps will send someone out to replace the ones with failed seals almost without question.
P.S. If you need a number of a regional rep i could get that for you if need be.
