My 5-year-old was in his room. I heard a Bang! I went up there, and he was in his bed, eyes wide open. The Bifold door in his closet had fallen down. I asked him where was when the door fell. He didn’t answer, but when I asked him to sit where he was, he sat about 6 inches from the now prostrate door.
Apparently the door had cracked at the pivot, some time ago. It chose then to fall off. I think, because they are hollow core, if they had hit him he might have gotten off with only (“only”!!!!!) a broken leg or arm. But I still shake about it.
I want to replace the door with hinges instead of those &$)*(&^)_&*( pivots. But I still want to keep the top guides so the door folds instead of flopping around. Has anybody seen hardware that will allow jam hinges and a guided top? That look decent?
