Hello All
I am planning on building a 10×14 shed this spring. The location is on a hillside so the rear of the shed will be elavated about 3 to 4 fett off the ground. I plan on six concrete footer going down at least 36 inch (frost line in Pittsburgh PA). In the rear I was thinking of inserting metal brackets in the wet concrete to accept 6×6 posts which I would bolt to double 2×10 for the rear rim joist.
My question is what to do in the front, i would like the front double 2×10 rim joint low to the ground. Should I have short 6×6 posts in the front (approximately 10 inch tall) or should insert a bracket in the concrete to accept the double 2×10 rim joinst.
I would appreciate any help, guidance and advise.
Thanks
Rich

Brackets for the rim
is what I would do.
Seal the ends of the posts and divorce them from the concrete. Treated doesn't necessarily mean rot proof. Make sure the rest of your wood is suitable for ground contact.
The posts would not be sitting directly on the concrete the bracket would lift the post about an inch off the concrete footings and while I want the shed to sit near the ground no wood would be touching the ground.
What do you mean divorce the posts from the concrete.
Thanks for the responses.
