Footing and foundation construction for walkout basement
Hi,
I have a question about footing/foundation design for a daylight vs. full walkout exposure basement.
In the daylight scenario, I imagine that the footing for the 9′ basement walls is at the same elevation as the 4′ walls, because the footing is always below freeze depth in Wisconsin.
My question is: for a walkout basement is the footing just dropped down in the section that is walkout another 4ft? Does anyone have drawing (elevation/cross section) detailing this?
I have a decent amount of experience doing stem walls for small additions or footing/slab foundations for detached garages, but am having trouble figuring out exactly how a whole house with full exposure is laid out.
Thanks a lot for the help!
