I’m doing a bath remodel on my house. Built in 1909, 2 story, 1800 sq.feet. I plan to install electric radiant heat under the floor tile.
My question: The bath now has a heat duct from the crawl space furnace. I want to remove the duct & cap it off near the furnace (with the radiant heat it seems redundant & this will give me more room for plumbing/electrical work in the crawl.) I’m wondering if I’m violating some h/vac formula which dictates that you need X number of ducts or else you blow-up the furnace/waste heat/ who knows what. I’m also hoping to gain a little more blow out of the remaining ducts, i.e. the upstairs ones don’t put out much (and yes I’ve had the ducts professionally cleaned recently).
Opinions?? Thanks.
