I have been a trim carp. for almost 10 years. I love my job, and have gotten rather good at it. I have trained a few people over the years. What I was wondering was how others out there motivate your workers.
As foreman I may have 1 to 3 guys to keep working. For the most part I really enjoy trying to stay one or two steps ahead of them.
At times I am not sure how to get them to really kick it in the butt. I am a easy going guy, but I will throw down and bust my butt to get the job done. I am not a yeller and I am not much of a hard-ass.
The problem I have is I don’t have the power to fire or really disapline anybody.
The guys under me are nice and have good attitudes but they don’t seem to have that drive to really get the job done in the amount of time I think it should be.
If anybody could give me some advice that would be appreciated.
