I’m a homeowner and am in the middle of a DIY project where I am tearing out sheetrock+plaster walls in my home, to insulate 2X4 stud walls to R-15 and rewire. I was hoping to install formaldehyde-free insulation, either mineral wool (Owens Corning Thermafiber Ultrabatt, which is transitioning to another name, or RockWool’s product). It seems that none is available for retail purchase here in the Midwest. I next started looking at Certainteed’s Insulpure. Again, nothing available for retail. Does anyone know why it is so hard to find these products?
