I am changing the course of my entry sidewalk. However a 7′ length of unused foundation stands in my way. It used to support a 5′ high privacy wall. Foundation is 8″ above grade, I would like to remove enough to get 4″ below grade. Unwanted section is perpindicular to garage and appears to be of the same pour. If I make a relief cut with my skilsaw 6″ away from garage foundation and jackhammer out the unwanted area, will I be able to preserve the integrity of the garage foundation. Any thoughts?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
