Foundation repair: hydraulic vs epoxy

Folks – A small recent addition to my home is having a problem with water leaking into the new basement at the joint where the new foundation wall meets the old. There have been quite a number of problems with this project, (some of which I’ve posted about previously) so it wouldn’t surprise me if the joint wasn’t done properly in the first place.
In any case, the contractor has agreed to dig down to expose the outside of the joint area in order to seal it, as well as sealing the inside also. He intends to use hydraulic cement with some sort of ” bonding agent”. I’m wondering whether one of the epoxy crack fillers would be better, either inside or outside or both. Anyone have any input on this?
Many thanks –
Ken

KEn,
I wouldn't be able to give any reccomendations without knowing more about your foundation system.
Was the new wall pinned to the existing?
Was the bond area of the existing wall sandblasted, acid washed, or otherwise prepared?
Was any waterproofing system applied to the Joint area before the new wall was poured?
Do you have an exterior footing drainage system in place?
Is there an interior drainage system?
What type of waterproofing system was used on the outside of the walls?
Is there a drain plane next to the walls to carry water to the footing drains?
