Working at a client’s yesterday and noted the pipe that is in the attached picture.
We are in the Palouse, the wheat-growing region of the PNW. The soils here are pretty heavily clay-based. And we go from wet Springs to 2-3 months of summer drought.
I have heard of, but never seen, a system for watering the foundation, to try to maintain a level moisture level, to keep the clay soils from moving around and damaging the foundation. Does anyone know if that is what I have here? If the answer is “Yes,” does anyone know where the valves for these things are usually?
Thanks.
