The boss is finally relenting and is prying open his checkbook (4′ prybar required) to buy a new nail gun.
After reading the FHB article I have come up with a list of criteria and possible choices
Stick nailer- coils jam too much, can’t be carried in pouch we hardly ever use a full coil before changing sizes, and we will be keeping the coil nailers we have for nailing sheathing on bigger jobs.
Clipped head- Fits better in all those hard to nail places
High power- We install ALOT of microlams, bangin them by hand
!!
Air filter- good Idea should soon be a standard.
Choices In no particular order:
Paslode Power master plus 400
Hitachi 83 or 90
Bostich N88RH
Max
Makita
PC
OK guys and gals let er rip! don’t hold back, I can take it, Just promise you’ll respect me in the morning!

Bostich n88WW,
My standard for testing was 16 p nails (.131) 3 1/2 inches long into dry white oak. Everything except the Bostich left the nail proud. the Bostich sank it a good 1/4 inch! It's light, made of magnesium and wow does it take abuse!
My compressor is an old (like 15 year old) and evan when the tank was down to 65#'s I could sink 3 1/2 inch ring shank stainless steel into 2 inch pine and white oak.
I find the generic nails less likely to jam if they are a little bent when I stick them in. So I don't get stanley's all of the time.
loading it is strickly one hand, stuff the nails in the slot and pull the catch back. you don't have to hold it back while you feed nails in with the other hand, nor do you need to be tricky to unload a partial stick and switch nails.

That is you isn't it, Your not on witness protection or anything like that are you?
sounds like one awesome nailer is it available in clipped head?
Our current nailers are bostich and our fav lumberyard carries the nails so this might cinch the deal.
I'll have Bostich send you a commission!
Thanx

Mr t,
Senco Framepro, lightweight, small overall size, gets into tight spaces easily.
C
ditto on the framepro. nails are easy to find, jams are rare but easy to clear, (think I've had 1 in about 30 boxes of nails).
Mr T
Senco makes several different framepros. The 650 and the 700 will nail into green concrete with a special senco hardened nail.
The new Bostitch looks impressive though, claims to have 1000 psi of driving force.
Sorry for having to end my first reply early.
