Can you use 21-degree and/or 20-degree plastic collated framing nails in framing nailer designed for 22 degree plastic collated framing nails? I am considering to purchase a FR350A Porter Cable Framing Nailer, but cannot find 22 degree framing nails at the local home centers.

ERJ,
Yes, 20-, 21-, or 22-degree nails will fit a plastic-collated nailer. The PC, BTW, is a decent gun for the money.

Thanks for the reply. Since I am not a contractor, and just do building projects on my farm, i will probably purchase the PC FR350A. I can get it for about $160.00
On Ebay, they are selling the Bostitch Metal connector/framer gun refurbed for about $139 quite often. For a single nailer - might be a good choice.I have the PC FR350 gun and it's not too bad - might have to get a diff tip on it cause it's a jumpy somebich. Pretty easy to accidentily bounce it off the work and fire another 2-3 nails just like that.JT
Yes you can, The Plastic colliated nails usually fill all the manufactured nail guns, Bostitch, Hitachi etc. Check the driving power of the nails gus your buying, I know Bostitch has 1050 in/lbs of driving force, Im not sure what PC has , i know that it is not as much as Bostitch, may be problem when you using 12 penny nails or bigger, good luck.
Thanks for the reply, and I will check on the driving power as you suggest. The 2005 Tool Guide rated the PC FR350 Mag with the highest power rating "A", but this is not the FR350A I am considering at $160.00 refurbished.
Just one other thing that you may want to check into before you purchase your nailer , Whos going to fix it, if it needs service? If you blow out an O ring in a few months or a trigger valve , where are you going to bring it for service. You may want to consider buying one from a Tool store that does repair service ( warranty even better) on the products they sell. Just a thought. Good luck
